From obese to healthy
Hi there! My name is Amanda, and I'm 26. I'm married to an awesome man and have 2 beautiful boys, 2 and almost 5. We live in Okinawa, Japan due to my husband being in the military. It's a beautiful place, but I miss my extended family back in the U.S. A little about my weight struggles: I was a chubby kid, but once puberty hit I slimmed up a lot. I was a cheerleader in middle school and was very fit. I was about 120lbs all through high school and through my first year of college. After that I got a desk job and the weight started piling on. I wasn't exercising at all and gained about 15lbs that first year. Then I got married and things evened out a bit. My husband was deployed almost the entire 1st year of our marriage, and to pass the time while he was gone I would run. I had a very physical job as well, so I was constantly moving. Once he got home from deployment I let the weight creep back on and ended up about 150 by the time I got pregnant with my first son. I had severe morning sickness with him and lost almost 20lbs in my first trimester, but gained it all back later! After he was born I lost down to 150 , and then got pregnant again when he was about 18 months old. I gained about 50lbs when I was pregnant with my second son and never got below 165 after he was born. Then my husband deployed when my youngest was 4 months old and my oldest was 2 1/2, and I did not have the time or the inclination to exercise or eat healthy. I was exhausted all the time and was fairly depressed. We had just moved to Japan, and I hadn't met anyone who I clicked with yet, so I was pretty much alone with 2 really small children. I gained up to 200lbs when he was gone, but in the year he's been back I've lost down to 170 and now I'm back up to 176-177. I don't want to get back to 200lbs again, and I would really like to look nice when he gets back from the deployment he just left on. I hope to be at the most 140lbs when he gets back from his deployment in November. The kids are older now, so I can exercise more (Yay!). I can't wait to get started and see the numbers drop again. The best motivation for me is when my clothes start getting too big! I LOVE that feeling! My husband is a very active, fit person and I want to be that way again too!
