Heather- Seeking Determination and Motivation
My name is Heather and I am 28 years old. I am trying to be healthier since I have been blessed with the potential for just about anything out there. My family has heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid problems, and weight problems on both sides. My name is Heather and I am 28 years old. I am trying to be healthier since I have been blessed with the potential for just about anything out there. My family has heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid problems, and weight problems on both sides. Before I stopped weighing myself, I had lost 42 pounds and gone down from a tight size 16 pant to a size 10. I lost the first 30 pounds just with diet changes. The next 12 with exercise. While I would like to lose more weight, the goal of losing weight often gets in the way of my goal to be healthier. I know they should go hand in hand, but I start to lose track of what is really important and have a problem with self destructive talk and behavior. So now I am just striving to be healthy and if I lose weight while I am changing my life to a healthier one that is great.

My Goals:
1. To Be More Active: I sit at a desk all day for work. One of my goals is to get up every hour and a half and take a walk, do some lunges, or wall push ups. 2. To learn to love healthy eating & exercise so that it can become a life change and not a part time change. 3. To learn to love myself and my body and to be my biggest fan, not my biggest critic.
My Program:
The way I am working toward achieving my goals: 1. Trying to get a good support system (this site, a fitness site on a wedding board, getting my mom and fiancee on board with losing) 2. Recording my successes! I have a calendar I am marking off every day I exercise and how long. 3. Trying to realize that success isn't just measured by the number on the scale (this is important because otherwise I start to feel defeated quickly!)
Personal Information:
I am from Oklahoma but relocated to Northern California 5 years ago to be with the love of my life. I am a college graduate with a degree in psychology and I work at a community college. I love FOOD!! lol and I love photography and reading.
