Constant creative progress -not perfection
I'm here to improve my health by developing better eating and exercise habits with the encouragement & support of the Spark community, my friends and family. The motivating Latin phrase I've attached with the photo is: "GUTTA CAVAT LAPIDEM, NON VI, SED SAEPE CADENDO" which essentially means : "THE DROP OF WATER HOLLOWS OUT THE STONE BY FREQUENT DROPPING, NOT BY FORCE; CONSTANT PERSISTENCE GAINS IN THE END." These words inspired me to think about becoming a steady, constant drop of water in my own life, and the lives of my family and friends. Water can be so many things: refreshing, cleansing, energizing, powerful and basically the essence of life itself. Thanks for being a part of my journey. - FINALLY GETTING STARTED, March 1, 2009 (270#) When I first created my SparkPage, I thought I needed to post the clip of the little fat, sleeping gopher with the statement "I WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE. IF I COULD JUST GET STARTED." So I got started with SparkPeople with long term goal of achieving a balanced healthy lifestyle. I weighed in at 270#, set a short term goal of 255# and long term goal of 125#. Well I reached my 1st short term weight goal of 255# on 5/28/09. Thanks to SparkGuy for conceiving this little gem and to all my "SparkPeeps" who have and will encourage me along the way. Love Yah!

Personal Information:
I love traveling to new places to enjoy different communities, cultures, food, music, art, dance, architecture, landscapes, & approaches to both rural, urban and environmental design. I enjoy getting my hands dirty in the garden, or with paints, pastels, clay and FOOD (of course). I love the fiber arts, especially weaving & quilting. My favorite vegetable: tomatoes. My favorite fruit: cherries. Fave annuals & perennials: monkey flowers (mimulus) and lupines (lupinus).
