MNABOY'S RAILS TO HEALTH

Joined SP in 2007 in response to my youngest telling me diets were not good for me because I would work the diet to my goal and start back eating as I did that lead me to need to lose weight. She attached SP's home page and stated it was a good tool to use when I decided to take control of my life again. I had both knees replaced and began to walk a little but didn't pay much attention to SP until my back pinched a nerve and I had to have surgery to be able to walk . Then I began to read and ...

She attached SP's home page and stated it was a good tool to use when I decided to take control of my life again. I had both knees replaced and began to walk a little but didn't pay much attention to SP until my back pinched a nerve and I had to have surgery to be able to walk . Then I began to read and pay attention. I've have lost over 100 pounds that have stayed off and am working on losing another 50 or so. Tracking my intake and exercising is my key and teams are the support that keep me doing both. Love the outdoors and live in AR where we have all you could want, white sand bars, hills and mountains, lakes, streams and rivers, trails galore and great people. Have to travel to visit to confirm how blessed we are. Three children and three grandchildren are great reasons to travel.

My Goals:
It is my goal to reach 200 pounds.

My Program:
Tracking everything I eat and drink and staying under 1900 calories a day. I plan to walk 3.2 to 5 miles a day 6 days a week.

Personal Information:
I live in east Arkansas on "The River" and am blessed to have the delta and Crowley's Ridge which provides unlimited outdoor activity and sports. Also, we have a great history created over the years and have Civil War sites recreated as well as original sites preserved. We have one of the largest Blues Festivals in the world. Always something great happening.

Other Information:
I always thought I would retire and my wife and I would hike and camp, sans Scouts, just the two of us, and I would write an article about the railroads in my home county. Physically we will have to work to be able to hike flat ground!

yeah....I know what you mean. NEVER buy ANYTHING that tastes good in a package of more than one!! Guaranteed it will be eaten. I never ever used to be like that. I could buy a package of cookies and have thm last several weeks. NO MORE. And that was a hard admission for me to make. I always wanted to feel I could handle temptation. But the fact is: I can't. Not now. Maybe not ever. So KNOWING that fact gives us power. I have also heard of making your home a "no junkfood zone"---anything bad you want to eat, you have to get in the car and go get it. And that buys you plenty of time for second and third thoughts which hopefully will make you turn around and head for home empty handed...empty tummyed. Thanks for commenting on my blog.
