Never Giving Up!

Hi! I'm in my early 50's, have been overweight most of my life. I love life, but I also want to have a healthy body so I can enjoy it more with friends and family. I now have Rheumatoid Arthritis on top of the weight and with having to be on Prednisone, it makes it harder to lose weight. I have a tough time exercising too, but I'll never give up. It will be fun to get to know "like people" to share and help each other.

My Goals:
I want to be a healthier and a stronger person to have more of a chance to live longer.

At the beginning of my journey, 8/28/11. I made baby step goals down to my goal weight. I used 5% increments:

Start Weight:
216
205 Yes!
195 Yes!
185 Yes!
176 Yes!
168
160
152
145
138

My Program:
I'm making more healthy choices with food, paying more attention to exercise. I try to keep my goal in view every day.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Seattle, WA and have lived in the Midwest for around 30 years now, married to my best friend. We own and operate our dairy farm. My husband and I have two grown children. Our daughter's married and our son farms with us full-time. We also have our beloved English Springer Spaniel named Hope! We love her undying love for us every day! We raise corn, soybeans, barley, alfalfa and wheat too sometimes. I love the distinct 4 seasons in the MIdwest, but not always the extreme temp. of heat and humidity in the summer and the cold winds along with snow in the winter. But we know that the things we don't care for as much, find us enduring and then that builds character! I love gardening, baking, collecting, shopping, sewing, music, singing, piano, painting, decorating, embroidery. I hope to become more and more healthy that I can enjoy all of these things more.

Other Information:
Ask yourself if what you're doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch for reading and commenting on my newest blogs. I am so over remodeling and just so glad it is finally done after 2 yrs. With this home so small we had to come up with creative ways of doing things. I hope you looked at the after blog after I was done. I tend to post pictures and edit as I go along. It is easier for me. Tks again. xo Teri emoticon

yes, Karen. I always rinse the beans really well. I wish I knew how much sodium they have absorbed. As sensitive as my tongue has become to salt, I want to say they do not have all that much salt in them because I would definitely taste it and not be able to tolerate it. For example I made a dish yesterday that had a little bit of salsa in it. Well to me, the brand of salsa I had made it taste like tomatoes drenched in salt. It was disgusting. And that meal had canned kidney beans in it and they did not bother me. So I think they are not too bad.
