90 Days - What will you do with them?

No, this post didn't get misplaced from October.

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE 90 DAYS FROM NOW - Sept. 1?

Think about this for a few minutes. We have June, July and August to make a MAJOR change in our lifestyle! You may be saying "lifestyle"? Why didn't you say weight?. HERE is why.

The weight loss and toning of our bodies is merely the BY-PRODUCT of our lifestyle changes and they must be that in order to achieve and SUSTAIN them.

Put your DREAM glasses on. emoticon

What do you see?

I'm going to peer through mine. Sept. 1st is a Saturday. Labor Day Weekend (side note - make plans now if you blew this past weekend not to repeat!) That's 93 days if you count today (or roughly 13 weeks).

If I don't dream big I don't WORK big so I'm shooting for 20 pounds more off from WI yesterday. That's 1.5 pounds a week. Now I have not lost 1.5 pounds a week in ages but last week I lost 1.2 and was down more this morning so I think I have tweaked my plan enough to do it. I would like to be off Diet Coke - completely. I would like to be going 20 minutes straight on the elliptical and 40 minutes on the bike. I can do it now but only broken up.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL (think of your own goal here)

1) I must continue to eat at my new calorie range including vacation, holidays, special outings, church suppers, picnics, etc.

2) I must track my food (iphone, computer, little memo pad in my purse) whatever.

3) I must get DAILY cardio. Yep - I do that anyway. SO I must nudge it up in intensity/length.

4) I must continue strength training and use heavier weights. On my shopping list - time for the 5 pounders!

5) Continue to taper off Diet Cokes.

6) Stay accountable - that means my challenge groups and teams.

7) NO EXCUSES. I repeat. NO EXCUSES. If it rains, workout indoors. If I'm sick - get on the bike and elliptical in short bursts throughout the day. If I'm eating out - look at the menu online before and choose my food (box up half), move the bread basket etc. If I'm short on time and out of the house I will get a 6" sub no mayo etc. from Subway or a Salad at Wendy's (low fat dressing). If I'm stressed I will workout - not eat. If' I'm tempted I will message a friend or post here.

NO EXCUSES!

I can do this. I know where I want to be.

Where do YOU want to be?

I found the loose skin very emotionally troublesome.
My face is wrikled and there are things hanging off my arms.
Enough said because I do not want to go down any further.
Your positive spin made me laugh.
Thank you.
I used to laugh at women who wore girdles and their ilk.
I shouldn't have done it because here I am needing the same help.

Oh, I needed to hear this today! I was wearing size 10's last year and am now wearing 14-16's.. varies between 15-20 lb gain!! I want so much to get back in the habit of eating healthfully and taking time to exercise.. time for ME!..I did so well for 3 years - lost 120 lbs. with the tool of bariatric surgery.. now coming up on 4 years I'm up 23 lbs. from my very lowest. I was thrilled at that weight- now I know I would feel better if I could just remove 10-15lbs... I was just not able to maintain my weight loss.. I vowed not to be one who gains it all back ..
Oh, my dream to be thin... 90 days.. Well today is the first day of the rest of my life.. I have blown it for the most part for today.. BUT am stopping right now and getting on track (I had cake and cookies and ice cream this morning and stell cut oats!) I vow to eat healthfully the rest of the day and make a plan for each meal...and to EAT what is on that plan.. I would be happy to lose 1 lb. a week so that will be my goal. Next goal is to go to the gym 3 days a week.. and to swim 3 days a week- this i a lot of time spent exercising when I could be.. sleeping.. reading..eating..ok now I can do this!! .

You made me think. I just started so I hope in 90 days I have lost enough weight that others notice. I would like to be fitting into my clothes without a tight waistband or pockets gaping.

Hope you reach your goals too.

Ummm...this blog really opened my eyes.
Excuses is my middle name right now.
And is September really that close?
Days are longer. Weather is nice. I always say I don't like to exercise in the winter-so what am I waiting for?
Fresh vegetable season is here,so no excuse there either.
And I really like when you said that if you don't have time to eat,6" sub with no mayo will do. I often eat on the run and I think it's an excuse to eat things I don't really need.

Nice blog.

I like this blog a lot. You so clearly express the thoughts I have about working hard over the summer to establish habits that yield a good life. This summer is going to be a time of restoration for me. Just today, I looked at all the major bad decisions I have made in my lifetime, and the results of them all. And then I looked at the power I have in my life today to learn from those bad decisions and the power I have to make choices today that are healthy and wise. Sept 4th is my birthday. I will be 66. And my goal is to continue working on life style changes that nurture myself. My life is not over - by a long shot. The best years are yet to come if I really take care of myself. And that is within my control. You are helping me with the tools to do that. I am excited. emoticon

I really like this plan..".90 days of summer" is a good motivator to just get out there and move!As well as walking , i'm going to dust of my bicycle and use it for short stops to the farmers market instead of using the car. emoticon emoticon emoticon

You have a great plan and I know you will stick to it. I heard that when we drink coffee, tea or pop, we should drink a glass of water after each serving. I never drink pop anymore since I figured out it never quenched my thirst but made me thirstier.

Happy Journey!

Great plan, Suzanne! You can do it! Your goals are completely doable and you've done an excellent job in leading our team by example by your healthy lifestyle and managing to lose alot of weight already and keep it off! It's weird to say this but if I work hard I could potentially be either pretty close to goal weight or AT my goal weight by then, which would mean starting round 20 at a much lower weight.

I'd like to lose 20# by Sept. 1, also. It's pretty ambitious, but it can be done. I want to do it. So, I need to get on the treadmill or do a dvd daily, besides the 2 hours I work in the garden daily.

I can hardly wait until all the vegetables are ready. I love eating fresh.

We can do this!!!

I enjoyed your blog, and you have challenged me to really think about where I want to be in 90 days. I'm really bad at setting long-term goals, and even worse at following through on them. Lately I've been more on the one-day-at-a-time routine. I will think hard about this one, and will blog later.

Where I would like to be is well on my way to achieving my goal weight; that means I need to lose 21 pounds in 90 days, that's only about 6.5 pds a month I know, but it is not looking especially promising since it has taken me 6 months to lose 9. So I guess I better get going huh.

1) step up the exercise
2) be more careful about what I eat (I am tracking so that isn't the problem).

Its beautiful outside so I am going for a walk on lunch. Thanks,

Great goals; keep the good work up!
Mine:
1) I want to still be weighing myself and tracking what I eat. This will be a record length of time for me to have done this. I yoyo'd for decades because when I stopped weighing and tracking, I would always put on more weight than I started out with!
2) I want to be within 10 pounds of my goal weight or less!
3) I want to taper off Diet Cokes too!
4) I want to keep mixing things up with my exercising, and set higher goals.
These are plenty for me!

Wow - you go, girl! I like the way you think and I want to be there, also. You've got it right when you talk about sustained lifestyle changes, with weight loss as the by-product. Diets produce weight loss, but that kind of weight comes back. We are here to see that we make changes so that the weight STAYS OFF! emoticon
