Numbers Chick - Reconciliation vs. May Goals

Friday, June 01, 2012

The main 3 "quotas" I have myself for May in order to stay on track for my "big picture" (year goal) are as follows.

Total Minutes Exercised - 1863
Miles Run - 42.35
Pushups - 635

My May performance was:

Total Minutes Exercised - 2351 (126% of quota)
Miles Run - 43.77 (103% of quota)
Pushups - 742 (117% of quota)

So we are 42% of the way through the year and I wanted to see if I am at least 42% of my full year goals for each. I am!
Pushups - 45%
Running - 45%
Minutes - 49%

So I am trending over my goal. The pushups goal is helped by my ZWOW challenge because a lot of the workouts incorporate a high amount of pushups in a short period of time :) Also I was way over in exercise minutes - I am currently on a streak of 61 days of an hour or more of exercise each day so I hope to keep it going!

I still defend my position of not going back to increase my total year goals because I am consistently above - I still plan to get pregnant this year (God willing) and I know I'll enjoy having a bit of a cushion if it is anything like I felt when I was expecting Gianna :) But next year I'll have to increase all my yearly goals!

I agree with not upping your goal midway.

it's kinda like when I worked retail....we had our weekly budgets that were based on previous year's sales. If we were having a great year of overages we did not increase them, we simply enjoyed the wins and the profits and increased them at year end for the following year.

Besides, I think it's better for the self esteem at this point. emoticon
