I don't often give myself enough credit. For what? For anything really. So this week I want to give myself credit for sticking to a goal. At work during the summer I change from the standard 5 day work week to a 4 day work week of ten hours per day. Since I sit at a desk for my job, that really isn't helping my goal to live a more active lifestyle. So I did some research and came up with several exercises I could do at work. I brought 2 pound weights and a yoga mat since i have an office and can shut the door. I decided to start with 5 sets of 10 repetitions for most exercises since most are exercises I have never done. I also looked up some demos and videos of how to properly do the exercises. I put reminders on my office calendar so that every hour and a half a reminder pops up on my computer: GET MOVING!!! And I have every time! I also scheduled meal times and snack times and packed my own meals and snacks including greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a variety of fruit, and almonds and plenty of water. So far with my goal to stay active and all my little exercise breaks I have logged about 6 hours of exercise so far this week! What a huge accomplishment! I am giving myself the due credit today.
