Motivation?

Thursday, June 14, 2012

One of the things I seem to struggle with at times on this journey is motivation to exercise. As I suffer from CFS I don't always have "normal" energy and long workouts exacerbate the problem. When I do have "normal" energy I want to spend it doing fun things, not exercise. SO I have taken to posting visual reminders to help "motivate" me to exercise. Like the one above

What is your secret to motivation?

I needed that reminder too. Your spark page is looking beauteous! I always have admired how much you do. CFS may have you feeling down but it never seems to stop you for long!

My friend started making little drawings of things that motivate her and hanging them around the house. Every time I go to her house I seem to find a new one. They are sometimes really funny, so I decided to start myself. I have them hanging in my bathroom I get ready in, in my car so when I get in I see one. My favorite one she has is a picture of two stick figures, one is a normal stick figure and the other is a stick figure that she drew a huge circle around the belly and made it look extremely overweight. On the top is says would you rather look like this or that you choose. She has it hanging on the fridge and says that it helps her every time she opens the fridge to indulge in a snack that is not so healthy, it seems to make her rethink her decisions. Hope this helps a little bit. emoticon
