My plan seems to be working

Monday, July 02, 2012

I am now almost 2 weeks into my new plan and it is working just fine. With Dukan, you are on mostly protein. Certain proteins are not allowed...low fat (no more pork steaks)..lean pork is OK. After a certain number of days you change to Protein/Vegetables. The vegetables cannot be starchy or carby. After 8 days I had lost 4 lbs but then going on protein/vegetable some came back and now down the 4 lbs again. I have lots of energy and can do the required 30 minutes of exercise per day easily...it calls for walking but in this heat - Hit 105 F a few days back, I use my Nordic Elliptical. What I have discovered is a real lack of urgent hunger. Hunger yes, but urgent no. With low fat protein and all the vegetables needed every other day, I am feeling just great. I breezed through my 30 minutes of elliptical today and burned up 400 calories.

Thank you all for the encouragement!

Jill I have sent you an answer to your question in your SparkMail

Lemon - I'm not having bread or heavy carb withdrawal either. It's amazing and totally unexpected.

Great work, Sandy. I know this one wouldn't work for me, but that doesn't matter...it only matters what works for you! I'm so happy it is working well for you! Hugs, Jeannie

Hi Sandy, out of curiosity, maybe you said but can't remember if you did, how did you hear about the Dukan plan? How long have you been on it and if you don't mind me asking how much weight have you lost so far. I'm asking because I am interested in looking into it. However I'm a carb lover and I've read too much protein can be harmful to your kidneys and being I'm diabetic that bothers me as it seems like on this plan it's lots of lean protein. I'm also a bread lover from way back. I am so pleased and happy for you. Continue making progress--I'm rooting for your success!

Love,

Jill

    Sandy
great work! I think one of the big advantages to Dukan for ME is that it was a very short time before I lost all cravings for food that are not on the plan in the phase I am in. I think about fruit and bread and times; and at times I miss them, but I know I will get them back at the end of my Cruise phase. But not having bread withdrawls is HUGE for me as I was an affirmed carb addict.

I am pleased to not be struggling with this.

Good Job on sticking with it! Keep us updated! emoticon
