Spark Progress

Friday, July 06, 2012

Just realized yesterday I've been on Spark People for only 8 months - somehow thought I was going on year 2. Maybe becasue recently "sparking" has become such an integral part of my every day.

This was not the case during 2011 - I actually totally dropped out after the past two-ish months starting up again in January. . . and starting up with a fervor!

Each month since it has become easier to find the time. Initially, becasue I am a very competitive person and decided to 'earn' as many points as possible each day - which required logging in each day 8-))

Next thing, I was reading articles and blogs, being inspired, joining challenges and tracking myh progress....and losing a few pounds in the process!

June was a particularly successful time for me on my journey to better health.

#1 - Received a Perfect Attendance Trophy - MY FIRST !!

# 2 - Reached 1,000 Monthly Fitness Minutes BEFORE the end of the month!! Last time I received this Trophy was in my 'starting month'

# 3 - Reach 500 Monthly Spark Points - all that reading of articles, blogs, etc.

# 4 - Received a Consistence Trophy

# 5 - Consistent gym attendance - only missed a couple days

# 6 - Earned a .01 for each Spark Point AND for each goal met - now I'm going shopping for REAL workout clothing!!

# 7 - Joined my first 5K - in training now

# 8 - While not as consistent as I'd like, I'm eating more meals at home - a 75% improvement

# 9 - Lost 1.8 lbs - the BEST PART OF THIS BLOG 8-))

I suppose the list could go on and on but that is what comes to my mind right now.

Next Step - Create a successful July!

You are making great progress. Educating yourself will make the journey more enriched and when you reach your goal, you will stay there!!!

I also try to get as many points each day as I can. It drives me :o)

I am very happy for you. My journey on here has been much like yours. I joined years ago. Lost 89 pounds. Meet a wonderful man, got married and gained 39 pounds of it back.
I am back on the sight (only for a week now.) But I am getting my steam back.
It helps know that there is someone else out there going through the same things.
Thank you.
