SP Question

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Have any of you had eye surgery to lower eye pressure due to glaucoma? I'm scheduled to have this surgery on July 30th and hopeful that it will be successful. My doctor says it has a 70% success rate and lasts about 5 years. Looking for someone who's had this.

Thank you all! The surgery went well and was relatively painless; in case you ever have to have it done. Plan to have someone drive you; it takes several before sight returns in the effected eye.
Don't know about you, but not being able to see is a frightening thing for me. Everything I enjoy requires my eyes. emoticon

Thank you all for the well wishes. One of my co-workers had the surgery years ago. I'm sure it's much easier now and I'm sure it'll go fine.

I have glacoma but my doctor has never told me that this could be a option if mine dropped to much.

you might want to go to a site like webmd click on the name of the procedures and see what others say about the procedure

I haven't had glaucoma surgery, but I had cataract surgery last summer and it was amazing. It didn't hurt, I was in and out in a couple of hours (more time for pre-op and post-op than the operation itself) and I haven't had any problems since.

I'm sending you positive thoughts that your surgery will be as successful as mine was. emoticon

Don't know anyone who has; hope someone will help you out. Maybe posting as your status might catch some more "eyes"...?

No experience but that is a very high success rate. You are in my thoughts.
