Planing on going to Bali and Taiwan in the early spring and would like to healthy and fit so that I can do some white water rafting. You have to climb down 200 stairs to the river and backup 200 stairs from the river. The stairs are those deep ones. Going down is not the problem but climbing back up I find is a challenge. I did it about 4 years ago but I was younger then.
I believe in me and ability to achieve my goal.

These were so fun to read, and I'm dying to know what the story is behind "Crowd pushups at a Notre Dame football game. :D" My bucket list includes a half marathon - dunno if I even want to get all the way to a marathon 'cause then I'll have to figure out how to eat while running. I want to skydive. I want to eat a 100 mile diet (in Massachusetts) for one full year. Eradicate the batwings would be nice, too, but it appears that no amount of muscle under that flabby sag is going to make it go away.

My goal is to Hike the Appalachian Trail in sections or as a thru walker in 2014. Each day when I walk (except for Sundays), I think about all the sites to see, people to meet, fauna & flora. When I walk I try to take in the beauty around me & thank Jesus & God for starting me out healthy. I'm hoping to keep what He has given me healthy. Spark People has really helped with motivation, inspiration & success stories. But most of all, having the daily meal plans all figured out is a DREAM!!

Once I'm fit I would like to get into: Lindy hop swing dance (some might think this is totally dorky, and maybe it is, but it just looks like so much fun!) Aikido (who *doesn't* want to be able to kick butt?) Jiu jitsu (same as Aikido answer) Krav Maga (same as Aikido answer) Rock Climbing (No mountains in sight so rocks it is) Trail Biking (the rough kind-not the gentle park kind) Swimming (I've learned how to swim but I do the flailing thing, too--plus need special prescription goggles so I can see underwater-not being able to see freaks me out) Edit: spelling error--that stuff drives me nuts so I have to correct it when I see it.

I would like to run another marathon--this time working on time instead of just finishing. And maybe, just maybe I might try a triathlon. I've also thought about the "marathon cruises" where you run at every port and when you're all finished you've done 26.2. That sounds like a fun and healthy way to cruise.

Lose the saggy, baggy belly fat.
Walk, instead of drive, to the local fruit stand (and be able to carry my purchases home).

Get back to cooking with dried (instead of salty canned) beans.

I'm a little bit of a fashion junkie, so I think the vanity in me would say--when I look good, I'll wear the clothes I love and have longed to wear (including a bikini--Yikes!) But the desire to be more healthy is there for me too -- and that part of myself wants to run a 5K, and maybe the Disney 1/2 Marathon. And mostly, I want to set a good example for my kids who already have a strong love of junk food.

Good topic! 1. Reconnect with old friends. I haven't because I don't want them seeing me at this weight. 2. Start dating again. I don't want to until I feel better about me, inside and out. 3. See muscle tone in places that currently jiggle. 4. Go to the gym even on days that I don't have a partner to go with. 5. Wear the bikini I bought in Paris a few years ago, thinking I would quickly lose the weight needed to make it look good... and actually look good in it. 6. Make good food choices without first lingering over the wrong ones.
