Turkey Taco's Just brown up some ground turkey(put it aside) I added some garlic salt/teaspoon grated cheese/parsley(for color) and 2 tbls of chopped apple Then let you imagination fly and start chopping.......last nights batch consisted of chopped apples, sweet ptatoes semi-mashed,cubed monterey jack cheese,i chopped red pepper and pan toasted some dry stuffing mix with garlic powder and a pinch of sage Before its served up heat about 1/2 cup applejuice/2-3 tablespoons applesauce(used the appleskins in here as it simmered. I browned the turkey in a tsp of olive oil for those who like a little. Also served some anise on the side as a veggie. Turned out really tasty : ) But again, use your own imagination and create your own too. AND its fun!! Next time I'm thinking of trying some cranberries!! I like the soft taco's (pan heated dry)!!!

Sugarless applesauce. -Boil 2 apples -Peel and slice them -Put them in the blender -Add 1/4 c of v8 fruit juice (any flavor) i use berry Blend and enjoy! It's like a really healthy and fruitier version of applesauce. The v8 juice only has 70 calories per 8 oz and your only using a 1/4 of that.

Today is my first day on sparkpeople, and may I just ask...why have I spent so much money on weightwatchers online...when this is better??? :( Oh well, I'm here now and I guess that's all that matters! Tonight I made a super filling, super delicious 396 calorie dinner. It was grilled zucchini pizzas! What I did was I took a medium sized zucchini and I cut it in half. Then I sliced them long and thin. I then grilled on the bbq them on one side for about 10 minutes. Then I flipped them over and put on some sausage cut up, red peppers, red onions and a little shredded cheese. I closed the bbq over for another 10 minutes and plate them with some salsa thrown on top. Delicious!

hands down....spaghetti squash. It takes about 5 minutes to prepate, cut in half, scoop out the grossies, put some water in the middle, wrap with saran wrap and microwave for about 8 minutes. While that is microwaving, brown off some ground chicken or turkey wiht some onions. Add a can of tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano, and about 1/4 cup yogurt to make it creamy sauce and voila! A huge meal (one squash usually serves at least 4 hearty portions) for less than 400 calories (depending on how much turkey or chicken chuck you use)
Without ME, it's only AWESO.

It isn't really a recipe, but I'm really into salad right now. I'm not talking about a dainty salad either! I'm talking a HUGE, fill you up until your next meal kind of salad. My favorite right now: 4-8 cups of assorted lettuce (I use baby romaine and mixed spring lettuce from a bag) 1 Whole avocado 1/2 Of a medium tomato Pumpkin seeds (toasted lightly) Dried cranberries Ginger dressing (low fat) (And basically anything else I have in my kitchen that sounds appetizing!)

Easy, Simple, Delicious Homemade Hummus
- 2 cans garbanzo beans (chick peas) - 4 cloves of garlic - 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil - 4 tbsp tahini - 1 tsp sea salt - (optional) 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
Add all ingredients to food processor (draining water from one of the can of beans beforehand but including the water from the other) and blend until smooth. Makes a big batch! Eat with pita chips, water crackers, or to be extra healthy, stalks of celery. I make this at least once a week, it's deliciously simple.

One of my favorite, filling & low-calorie dinners is one I found on Sparkrecipes and I made it tonight-- basically a stirfry made with cabbage, onions, garlic cloves, soy sauce, and chicken. Lots of cabbage! I used 4 cups fresh, cut up cabbage and that's a lot of volume for only like 90 calories of cabbage. :)

My go-to quick and easy, sweet tooth fixer, easy breakfast meal: 1 cup skim milk or almond milk 1 pkg sweet leaf stevia (add another if you have a sweet tooth) 1/2 to 1/3 frozen banana-chopped into 1/2 inch chunks just before adding 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 1 scoop of your preferred protein powder (I use Dr Sears Zone) You can stop here, but lately I've been adding: open up and add the powder from a capsule of white bean capsules 1 Tablespoon chia seeds 1 Tablespoon ground hemp blast for 20-30 seconds in your blender (I use my Magic Bullet), pour out and enjoy. If you leave it sit, the chia softens and makes it a little pudding-like, so you may need a spoon for the remains.

First of all I read going up the recipes and they sound great. I also found a mistake in mine. The one with cucumbers and pineapple The Pinapple should be in it's own juice, sugar free and chunks not any thing else. Second recipe, I like to take a large can of Bavarian kraut (it is seasoned with some unusual little black seeds) Rinse it in a colandar because the sodium content is high. Put it and a large can of crushed in its own juice pineapple. A small amount of turkey sausage for protein and....there is your meal. I know it sounds odd but it is the first dish to go at my church carry ins. It might be because a large portion of my church are of german heritage as I am

DANAEBOYCE1 your lentil soup sounds delish!!! ************************************************************************************************ When I was a kid, one of my favorite “special” meals was called “Chili-Chip Dish”. Nowadays it would probably be considered more like nachos or taco salad. My mom would cook up a batch of chili & then there would be a whole selection of stuff to put on top of the chips and chili (cheese, tomatoes, green onion, avocado, sour cream, sliced black olives). No matter how small you started, the plate would always be overflowing with food because of all the “add-ons”. I make a lighter version nowadays; I call it “Chipless Taco Salad” & it goes a little something like this: 1 Romain heart (sometimes I’ll add green cabbage too) A handful of fresh cilantro 1/4 cup of S&W chili beans (sometimes I use plain black beans) 1 oz 2% cheese, shredded 1 medium tomato, diced 2 oz cooked chicken breast, diced ¼ avocado (if I have it on hand), diced Dressing: A couple tbsp of plain, nonfat Greek yogurt mixed with about a 4 tbsp medium salsa Chop the lettuce & cilantro; place on plate & drizzle with dressing. Top with warmed beans, cheese, tomatoes & chicken (and avo if you have it). It’s so yummy that you don’t even miss the chips!!! And if you do, there’s always the baked variety out there or even just a smaller portion of regular chips.

My favorite is frozen yogurt covered fruit. I cut up strawberries, blueberries, or cherries and put them in an ice cube tray then cover them with vanilla flavored greek yogurt. I freeze them for at least 2 hours. Once frozen, I pop them out and store them in a zip-lock bag in the freezer. They're a tasty evening snack to take the place of ice cream. I've measured the amount of yogurt that goes into 2 cubes, and it is a bit less than 100 calories plus calories from the fruit.

Sausage Soup - all year round. It is made with lean Andouille sausage (2 links), great northern beans, and pretty much any veggies you like, but I add: Diced tomatoes Chicken or veggie broth. Cabbage Purple cabbage Yellow squash Zuccini Carrots Mushrooms This is delicious and loaded with beans and veggies. I go light on the sausage so it's not about the meat, but gives great flavor. It is also very appealing with the beautiful colors. I love it!

I am a chocolate lover so anything chocolate is my weakness. What I do is I will either make sugar free instant pudding with skim milk and then divide them into ready to go servings or buy the pudding cups. I like to add cool whip free, a couple tablespoons, into the pudding and it makes a mousse like dessert. Kills any chocolate craving with just a little. Another thing that I like to do is in a wine glass I will layer sugar free angel food cake with cool whip free (or even the chocolate cool whip) and fresh fruit like strawberries and top it off with some sugar free chocolate syrup. You have a beautiful dessert for about 100 calories and the wine glass makes it look extra special. As far as savory goes, I like the garlic brown sugar chicken SparkRecipe that I tried last week. It was out of this world.

For a quick breakfast -- 2 whole wheat toaster waffles topped with 4 oz lowfat vanilla yogurt and sprinkled with 1/2 cup berries. Lunch -- open face tuna melts made with dill weed, scallion, ricotta cheese. Toast a slice of whole wheat bread and spread with tuna. Sprinkle a very small amount of shredded italian cheese on top. You can also add a tomato if you have one.

home-made soups - never the same recipe, because it's how I clean out the fridge and use up left-overs. Sometimes tomato base, sometimes vegetable broth, occasionally cream-style made with fat-free condensed milk. I add left-over chicken or beef, brown rice or whole grain pastas, lentils or couscous... never the same; always delicious.

Not really a "company dish" - but still yummy: Drain a can of Italian seasoned diced tomatoes, then puree Slice a zucchini into 1/4" pieces Layer the zucchini with the tomatoes in a small baking dish Heat in the microwave for 1-1.5 minutes If you've been really good today sprinkle a little good grated Parmesan on top I usually split one can of tomatoes among three zucchini for three meal-sized portions. Individual results may vary.

Egg-beaters egg white fritata / quiche. Beat up egg whites, a little salt and pepper, a tablespoon or two of flour, mix in vegetables cut into bite-sized pieces. Pour into baking dish/pie plate and sprinkle a little cheese on top - bake at 325 for about 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out of the center clean. I put all kinds of vegetables in it and a little shredded parmesan or cheddar (about 2 Tablespoons) on top. Quick, easy to put together, bake it and left-overs are good for lunch the next day. Low fat, low calorie, good fiber and protein values as long as you put in good veggies and don't go overboard with the cheese.

I got a recipe on here for zucchini ribbons. I make the ribbons using a vegetable peeler. I saute them using a little olive oil until tender then remove them from the pan. Next, using the same pan, I brown a bit of panko bread crumbs to sprinkle on top. The main difference between mine and the site's recipe is that I sprinkle just a touch of reduced fat feta on mine. My whole family loves it, especially my little picky eater. She eats it up!

Big salads--loaded with lettuce, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, avocado, shredded cheese, hard-boiled egg, etc..........YUMMY. Or try an "everything" smoothie--quick & easy. Throw berries (blue, black, straw) into the blender & add a peeled orange, some grapes, even a couple pieces of broccoli & cauliflower. Toss in milk, & enjoy! :)
