Hello again,

I figured out breakfast after some consultation with my guests. We had Aidell's Chicken Apple sausage, (available at Costco or Kroger), Scrambled eggs, Mashed potato patties with Dave's seeded bread toasted. Wonderful breakfast according to them.

Next time I will do aebelskiver for them because they've never had it before. I will also poach some eggs my way and serve them on extremely dry toast. I cook the eggs in milk with a little butter and because the toast is so dry it crackles when I put the eggs and milk on it. Rice Krispies' got nothing on my family's poached eggs. My mother and grandmother made poached eggs this way when I was very little.

About the car, I was able, by taking as many back roads as possible, to make it to my son's house in North Seattle, just north of Lake Washington. My brakes complained loudly whenever I touched them, but I kept going until I got here. I made very few stops and when I needed to slow down I used my gears to brake. It all worked and I made it without getting my brakes too hot. I was concerned about them igniting. I did know that if I couldn't make it I had Triple A insurance. My son buys a policy that gives us two hundred miles of towing. That was plenty to get me where I needed to go. Now except for taking the car to the shop tonight, so we miss the eight o'clock rush in the morning, I am tucked in safe and sound. It was rather fun actually. Its been a very long time since I've had to use my wits and driving skills to accomplish finishing a trip.

Love, Judy emoticon

Good Afternoon.

Judy I hope you figure out what to fix your guests for breakfast. We had the same problem here. For some reason DD showed up to have breakfast with dad. On Sunday he generally fixes himself biscuits and gravy with bacon or sausage and eggs. We didn't have any eggs and very low on margarine. They didn't remember I always have some stick margarine in the freezer. Well, DD went to the store for the eggs so all was well. I didn't want to shop last Monday as S/S day and the commissary would have been busy with lots of seniors

Jan, you had quite a time on your trip. Crabby men sure aren't very nice people. I guess they like to be that way. I feel sorry for his wife. Your boys are sure helpful around your house. I've never had one of the Costco Hotdogs but my men sure like them. Actually I think all there snack bar food is a very good bargain. Even their take and bake pizza is a good bargain. This coming coupon time there is one in there for $3.00 off the take and bake. I will buy another and cut it up and freeze. Actually that works very well.

Here it is Sunday already! Where does the time go?

My guests are still sleeping this morning and I am trying to figure out just what to fix for breakfast? I have plenty of eggs and lots of bread, however one of my guests cannot eat nuts and all of my bread has nuts. That means that french toast isn't a choice. I would like to have made poached eggs on toast, but I haven't enough milk.

I would go to the store and get some milk but the brakes on my car are going out and I have no other transportation. My son has made arrangements to have the brakes fixed tomorrow so I have to make it up to his place tonight. I will drop my guests of at their respective homes on the way up to his house. This has been an eventful weekend for sure.

I was going to take two boxes of books to the hospital in Morton yesterday, but the problem with the brakes stopped that idea. I'll have to drop them off on Wednesday when I go to TOPS.

James, one of my guests, filled one of my big planters with soil and planted my salad garden. He will be back in a couple of weeks by which time I will have gotten more planting mix. He will then hang my tomatoes and plant another salad planter. I will have almost all of my garden done then.

I wish I could find some corn that isn't "Round-up Ready" I love corn on the cob, but don't feel it is wise to eat GMO foods, or those that have been modified to grow where weed and bug killers have been distributed. I have read many articles on the dangers of eating modified vegetables. I don't suppose they will do me much harm at my age, but those things will negatively effect my grandchildren.

The dogs are waking up now so the people won't be far behind. I better figure out that breakfast problem and get going.

Love, Judyemoticon
