I used to Dance for everything....exercise, to help work thru problems and even just to clear my mind. Since my injury, I have moved to the water. I am so much graceful and can move without the restriction of gravity. Right now, I am grounded even from the pool but as soon as I get the OK, I will be back in my liquid element!

I LOVE putting on my CD's and dancing fast to them. I also LOVE swimming, pool walking and water aerobics. I do LIKE Leslie Sansone's DVD's, Richard Simmons DVD's and Wii Bowling. I live in Arizona so when the weather is not too, too HOT (which is NOT now) I LOVE walking around one of the many parks we have here.

Right now, after slacking so long, I don't like ANY form of fitness, ha ha. When I get some endurance back, I will enjoy kickboxing, the elliptical, and down the road, get back into running.

...but I get sore when I bicycle often. So, I'm studying Chi Walking, through a SparkTeam.
Every time my trainer and I box I love it. It is one of the few times where I don't hold anything back. When online and bought "boxer bob" today so that I can try to "work out my issues" and get a great workout even on days that I am not formally training.

Me and hubby going to the gym; but with the price of gas rising so, we've had to cut back to 3, sometimes 4 days a week....and we were doing sooo well. (still are, for the most part; just can't go every day :(! )
Although I often don't think of it as a form of exercise - I do love to dance. Hoping to do a little dancing on this cruise this weekend.

I love working out with DVDs because I need to change things up so I don't get bored. I have a selection of Jillian's circuit training workouts as well as Hip Hop Abs and Coach Nicole's DVDs. I also check out DVDs from the library and try new workouts from NetFlix.
I also walk on my treadmill while listening to a really good audio book or comedy MP3!

I feel lucky to live in a place with lots of outdoor recreation opportunities. My main sports are running and downhill skiing, but I'm a huge dabbler, so I also hike, mountain bike, backcountry ski, cross country ski, canoe, kayak, and about anything else as long as I can get my hands on the gear.
I like mixing it up, so I recently started a swim program. Sometimes I'll take classes at the local rec center. I wish there was a spin class around here that worked for me, I love it when I do it.

My favorite is spinning. I love the fact that the bike doesn't actually move - fear of falling! I also like the eliptical.
I'm noticing the add for the TRX suspension training system on this page and thinking that I'd be the person to actually hang myself using it! It just looks dangerous! For my safety, I'll stick to spinning!

Walking is my foundation. I am starting to add more exercises each week. I am now training for a 5K and am doing an ab program. I love to swim and wish I could do it more often. I also enjoy hiking and am looking forward to being in better shape so this activity will be more enjoyable.

I like to swim...it's cardio and full body strength training combined! Due to my injury, I can't really flutter kick so I mostly tread water or do the backstroke using only my arms.
Propelling myself thru the water using only my arms it is giving me one heck of an upperbody workout! But I was shocked to see how many calories treading water burns! 35 minutes of treading water = almost 500 calories!

Ecliptical machine I don't know why but it's my favorite thing to do. When I first started it I felt defeated by it and as time progress I became better and better. This machine just seems to always give me one heck of a workout.

You know I'm not rely sure, it may be a brand. We had one many years ago and then got rid of it. I don't know if it was the brand name or the type. I've just always called it that after having ours. I think elliptical and precore are inter changeable in my personal opinion. ( I could be wrong) The other word would be Nordic Track. One has the arms that move and the other has stationary handles. What one is what I'm not really sure.
I'm not much help this morning. Must drink more water now.

I like hiking. That is actually what jump started me on weight loss. I started hiking and thought gee if I do this enough maybe I'll lose some weight. Then the weather started to turn and I can't hike as much right now. Kind of between seasons. The rain and cold wouldn't bother me so much but we are in windy season here. So now I'm at the gym and totally motivated. At the gym I do the precore or elliptical. Eventually I'll get back into swimming. Soon (maybe sunday) I'll start doing some cross country skiing. I also love to down hill. I know it burns calories but I just can't count a 5 min down hill and 15 min chair ride as exercise.

Just in the last month, I started using an MP3 player when I walk. The first time I tried it, I crashed and burned because the beat made me walk too fast! I don't use music for every walk, because I also like to hear the outdoors - since I don't get away from the computer much!
Sheriann, you might check the schedule at your pool. If they have low impact water aerobics, you will find larger people exercising. Afteer a few times, you'll feel comfortable and won't care anymore about your size.
Our pools are outside here, so I'm waiting until spring to swim.
Sheriann, You might really like hiking because it is something you do alone or in small groups (ie different from the community pool). I am normally very clumsy but I never feel that way when I am hiking. As far as the uphill part, hiking can be mild, moderate or strenuous and I pick trails based on how I am feeling and what I want to accomplish. There are some great ridge trails, but some days I like going up for the feel of accomplishment (even if I do have to stop alot). You need a good pair of hiking shoes (wear them around the house for a week though) and a book of local trails. Pick a few Mild or Easy trails and just enjoy walking outside. It is so peaceful!

Okay- Maybe I need to try this hiking thing! I've thought about it, but .....well, that's it...just "thought" about it. So when you say hiking are you hiking UPPPPP a mountain? Silly question, but just making sure.
I LOVE swimming! The sad part is I get too embarrassed to swim in our community pool w/ my size....ugh. So for now I'm doing a lot of walking for cardio and weights for strength training.
