Nothing more needed - we've done it!!!
I've done an about 24km bike ride tonight, so that clears the last bit of the bike leg.
Run/walk: 36 done - 0 left Bike: 140 done - 0 left Kayak/row: 67 done - 0 left
Together as a team, we have completed the Coast to Coast!!

I had intended doing it as a team so what else do I need to do apart from doing more biking??

Is that just your own personal tally Snez? We're doing it as a team so you can add yours to the running team total as you go. :)
So that would be:
Run/walk: 36 done - 0 left Bike: 135.3 done - 4.7 left Kayak/row: 67 done - 0 left
Barely anything left to do for us as a team to achieve it! One small bike ride ... who's doing it?

Great! I should have 15k for the bike later today. At this rate we might finish it before the actual Coast to Coast on the 13th!

I managed to row 5km today took me a while managed on average 6minute kms because i had a short break every 2km. So tiring would be easier on elliptical lol but a littl bit longr time needed. As a team we will get this done easy.
Run/walk: 36 (+5) done - 0 left Bike: 26 done - 114 left Kayak/row: 11 done - 56 left

I would rather just 'achieve' this one and let further walking be counted in CR to Bluff, but it's really up to you. There are no rules. :)
If you want to add more and see how far past it we go, go for it!
The other thing we could do is see if each of us, personally, can achieve the Coast to Coast this month.
Run, 9k/wk, under 1hr/wk, 3.5hours/mo Bike, 35k/wk, under 2hrs/wk, 7hrs/mo Kayak, 17k/wk, 1.5hrs/wk 5.5hrs/mo
I dunno about an hour and half on the rower every single week. I barely last five minutes! :) But if you want to have a go, those are approximate times based on about 10kph run, 20kph bike, 12kph row.
I think we're just finding that the run portion is not that much of it, but something that a lot of us do. We've knocked that off early, but we still need to do the rest, and I think that will be where the challenge is!
Run/walk: 36 done - 0 left Bike: 20 done - 120 left Kayak/row: 6 done - 61 left

Well i wonder how many times we will have done the running leg, are we just going to keep adding, as my walk into work is 2km, I will walk in shortly to town aswell as its my day off and i will be spending a bit of it at the gym, so i think it will be a gud idea if i get on the rower while im there for a gud half and hour or so see how much i can help with that leg

Wow, we are a bunch of walk/runners!
If you still want to track your walk/run km's everyone, check out the "Cape Reinga to Bluff" challenge in this forum. We are virtually walking the country and need more people to help get along! :)

Thanks Bruzie. OTHERNATURE22 you don't have to do the whole thing on your own! :)
If you want to track your personal additions, do it underneath the totals, but this is a team effort, so you can add to the combined total.
So far it looks like we'll have the running done in ONE day!!! Anyone care to do 2ks tonight? The cycle stage a bit slower. Hopefully we can concentrate on kayaking for the rest of the month and knock it off, too.

It's February again! And that means hordes of lycra-clad athletes descending upon the small West Coast town of Kumara to start the Speights Coast to Coast - a gruelling cross country multisport event.
Competitors cycle 140 kms (three stages of 55km, 15 km and 70 km), run 36 km (including a 33 km mountain stage that crosses the Southern Alps) and kayak 67kms. They can do this in one day or in two days.
We're going to do it in February! (Hopefully!)
Let's join up and virtually do the Coast to Coast. We have three stages, adding up all the distances for the actual C2C legs. You do your own miles and post to the thread updating the stage you've added to.
Run (or walk!): 36kms Bike: 140kms Kayak/row: 67kms
Runners/walkers please add your miles to run, bikers of any kind can add their miles to bike, and those using the rower at their gym, or anyone actually really kayaking, add to kayak.
I foresee Kayak as the difficult stage, so I'm going to allow the elliptical machine to be used for that too. You can add 1km to the kayak for every 10 minutes spent on an elliptical. Elliptical can't be used for the run/bike stages though.
Whenever you post your miles, please copy and paste all three lines from the previous log, and add the km's to whichever of the three you need to update. If we tried to do each separately people would lose them! So copy and paste all three stages, and just update the one stage you added to.
It is permissable to add whatever you did in the weekend just been, but otherwise stick to Feb only, don't go back months in your tracker! :)
Run/walk: 0 done - 36 left Bike: 0 done - 140 left Kayak/row: 0 done - 67 left
