Just a quick question please... We are living in Auckland and we are keen walkers and have done many tracks in the Hunua and Waitakare ranges. How di I make sure that those km are added to this site?
I just had a bilateral calf lengthening operation and will be lying low for a while. I want to make sure when I am getting back into the swing of things that my walks will be added to this site.
On my other teams, I have clicked on the team goals, but that is not a possibility here.

Hi, The track that goes the length of NZ is called the Te Araroa track (www.teararoa.org) I REALLY want to walk that track... in sections of course ;-)

Well done Bev! Maybe we should just walk from Bluff to Cape Reianga - there's a site somewhere that does that, I think it was called Goalwalker. :) I'll keep walking anyway - chalk up another 8kms from me today.

I might start a new challenge, for international walking tracks and routes. NZ's are just too short and done with too quickly.

Next up - we're heading to Nelson to do the Heaphy Track in Kahurangi National Park. It's the longest DOC walking track! Mountain biking is allowed on it from May to September, so we'll get in before that season starts!

Hi team, Great idea - I've walked the Milfrod track (quite a few years ago) and it was wonderful. Happy to add my daily kms to the total. I'm picturing the gorgeous bush, clear cold streams, dramatic mountain pass and NO SANDFLYS - that'll be the beauty of the a virtual walk. :)

Yes it certainly is great idea. I've been doing virtual walk of NZ on Wonder Walkers site. Have done just on 2000kms taken me about 15 months mind you :-)
Training for half marathon in April less a few excess kgs.

Let's have a virtual walk together through some of the absolute best scenery available anywhere in the world - that's right, our own back yard!
The Milford starts at the head of Lake Ta Anau and ends at Milford Sound, and is 54 km's long. Collectively we'll walk it by logging any walking/hiking/running distances that you do (sorry no bikes and stuff, just foot-power here!).
Add your km's to the km's of the last poster and total up. When we get to 54 we've completed the Milford Track! We can then start on the next kiwi track! Suggestions for next track anyone?
